                                                                        AWANA                                            2008-09 Schedule

What is Awana?

Awana is an international, Bible-centered children’s and youth ministry providing local churches with weekly clubs, programs and training for students. The acronym Awana comes from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed as taken from 2 Timothy 2:15. More than 12,000 U.S. churches run Awana with programs in all 50 states. Awana can also be found in over 3,900 churches in 109 other countries and six continents.  Clear, consistent presentation of the gospel • Bible memory – our cornerstone • Circle games exclusive to Awana • A fun approach to learning God’s Word.  Most Awana nights consist of 3, one half-hour segments; game time, handbook time and council time.  During handbook time they recite or work on memorizing Bible verses, and during council time they meet to sing, have a story or lesson from the Bible and hear announcements.  During game time  we have various activities that center around a large circle in our gym.
