We are so happy your family is joining us as we read God’s Word together every day! For families who want to get into Scripture together, we have provided a monthly devotional with weekly memory verses for you. If you did our September devotionals, you will notice a change in the format this month. We are hoping this new monthly format will give families more flexibility while still providing plenty of resources and ideas. Please let us know how this is working for your family. We are grateful for your feedback as we work to make these devotionals useful and meaningful for our ACV families. Here is what you will see in this new format:
• Weekly Memory Verses – listed by date. If you see a bold section of the memory verse, it is because the verse is a longer one, and the bolded section is the portion of the verse you could use if you have very young children (or for anyone who has a difficult time memorizing).
• Opening Question(s) – these questions will help get your family engaged with the topic of the verse/theme.
• Memory Verse Work – we encourage your family to practice the current week’s memory verse together every day. Maybe it is at the dinner table, on the drive to school, or before bed.
• Unpack the Theme – this can be read word for word, or you can look at it ahead of time and paraphrase if you wish. You could also read parts of this at different times during the month.
• Prayer – every devotional has a simple prayer prompt for your family to use if you wish.
• Go Deeper – this section gives additional Bible stories/passages to read that will help your family explore the verse/topic further. This section also includes discussion questions.
• Family Challenge Question – this question will challenge your family to apply the verse/topic together. How can you apply this in your own home?
• Activity Ideas – these hands-on activities will help your family apply and remember the truths you have learned in God’s Word.
Remember that this devotional is a tool to help your family get into God’s Word daily. Feel free to adapt and utilize it in a way that works best for your family!
