This summer, July 25-31, ACV Student Ministry has the unique opportunity to go to Miami for a mission trip. This trip will be led by Pastor Glen. While we are in Miami, we will be working with Envision and the missionaries who are currently placed there. It will be a great opportunity for our students to share the Gospel in an area in desperate need of Christ.
Miami is a unique city in the United States; many say it feels like a foreign country due to its diversity of ethnicity, languages, religions, and more. Miami is a city with many living in poverty and with tons of physical needs. They also have a deep spiritual need, with only 40% of citizens claiming any religion at all and only 10% claiming to be Christian. Miami is the definition of worldly desires; they need a spiritual grasp on reality. We have the opportunity to be a light in a dark place.
While in Miami, we will partner with the local church to reach the lost. Possibilities for the trip include prayer walks, VBS, sports ministry, partnering with local public schools, homeless ministry, and more! As a worker in Miami, you will be serving in a cross-cultural setting, possibly working with Latino, Haitian, Chinese, Jamaican, Bahamian, Arabic, and North American groups to spread the Gospel.
The cost for this trip will be roughly $1000. This is an all-inclusive price for flights, insurance, lodging,, and meals. The cost will change based on flight prices and the number of students who register. It could be higher or lower than $1000, but I wouldn't anticipate by much. We will be support raising for this trip, so the out-of-pocket cost will likely be much lower than $1000.
We are looking for students who love Jesus and want to see the Gospel spread to join this trip. If that sounds like you, then apply today! After you apply, there will be an interview with Pastor Glen to lock in your placement on the team. The application deadline is November 18th, though you are encouraged to apply much sooner.
